In Sospeso

This piece was jointly designed with my client Vernon Hyde, (who also supplied the beautiful photographs), after seeing one of the Equilibrio shelves. It was a fascinating journey where the idea evolved gradually during our meetings. In the initial brief the objective was that the two cylinders would be free standing and be able to roll towards the centre to hold a document. By the time the piece was made we both agreed that it would be a shame to disturb the aesthetics with "a foreign body" and the piece is now displayed as a sculpture rather than a functional accessory.
